The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation capabilities but it's missing no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing system permits for better maneuverability and the high-pile feature of its carpet cleaning mode is effective but it could get caught in rug tassels.
In our tests, we found that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to eliminate the majority of hair on bare floors, and a fair amount on medium-pile rug. It was less effective on shag carpets which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust buried in the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice that it was a little slower on floors that were not paved, but it regained speed and performed better than other robots we tested.
The IQ is a better choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on charge and is more capable of moving itself over obstacles. The eufy11S did well in our tests to remove larger particles and fine dust from floors. However, it was unable to give medium and high pile carpets a thorough clean. It is also prone to smack into furniture and other objects in its path however, it is able to detect those obstacles using sensors. It stops and emits a loud ring when it comes across an obstacle. Then, you can manually guide the device around it to get it to work again.
The BoostIQ mode is a great feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set the robot up to automatically adjust the suction force based on the floor type and the level of the mess. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S where you want it to move.
Single Room Mode is a great option if you have little furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy can spend 30 minutes focusing on cleaning the area that it's assigned.
